Hi, Is the iPad version coming soon to Apple store? If it does, is it going to be an upgrade to the current iPhone version that's to say an universal version. Thanks.

Hi Gary -

I on the fence about releasing the iPad version bundled with the iPhone version as a Universal binary.

On the one hand, it'd be very convenient for users and myself. I don't really *want* to administer twice the number of releases (separate iPhone and iPad). And, as a user, I like when I get both iPhone and iPad together.

On the other hand, it'd mean I'd have to stop support for iOS 3 on the iPhone since I can't support that on the iPad. When they're bundled together as a Universal, they have to target the same version of iOS.

Now, I'm going to have to abandon iOS 3 (and first-generation iPhones and iPods) eventually, but I'd rather it be later than sooner. But I'm also considering targeting the iPad version at iOS 5, since that wouldn't exclude any iPad hardware. But I definitely wouldn't want to force the iPhone version to iOS 5 as that would mean abandoning all second-generation iPhones and iPods!

So not going Universal has it's advantages. Unfortunately, some are going to be unhappy regardless of what I decide to do. :(

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for your updates and your hard work in developing the iPad version for the next iOS 5. You have my support on arriving to this difficult decision.

Oops, I just downloaded the iPhone app thinking it was for the iPad. The app store is not always clear about this and there is no warning like this is an iPhone app are you sure you want to download.

I have to delete it now as it is nauseating on an iPad. Did I just waste my money.

Hello Gpacharlie -

Sorry about that! I completely agree with you, the App Store's wording can be confusing! If an app says "compatible for iPhone & iPad" you have to look above that to see if there is a "designed for both iPhone & iPad" as well.

As you can see, I am working on a "designed for iPad" version of VerseWise but it's not ready yet.

I cannot give refunds directly but you should be able to get one from Apple by following the instructions in this link. If you run into any difficulties doing this, please let me know!
